LUKUVUODEN VARRELTA 2022–2023 28 ENA9-KURSSILLA KIRJOITETTU AINE AIHEESTA MY SUPERHERO When asked, who my superhero is, I do not have to think for long. I can find the answer just close by because my mother is my true hero. She can neither fly nor shoot lasers from her eyes but I still find her own qualities much better. First of all, she is my biggest supporter. Whatever hobby I have wanted to try, she has made it possible. For instance, she keeps buying me paints and pencils and tells me my artwork looks amazing. Not only is she encouraging when it comes to my hobbies, but also supports me with my education. My mother is the one who sparked my interest in biology and chemistry, as she is a veterinarian herself. I remember her always taking the time to answer my question about her profession and letting me read her scientific books even though I understood nothing. Secondly, my mother has shown me that I should carry myself with pride and not hide in the shadows. I have had rough times with my lack of confidence but she has always told me I'm beautiful just the way I am. Even better, she gives me a great example by walking with her head up high whether she is wearing her work clothes or a beautiful dress. She is not afraid to voice her opinions either. In conclusion, I don't have to search for my superhero from movies or books. I'm not looking for miracles, because my mom is the greatest gift of all. Siiri Rytilahti, LA20B Englannin kurssien tekstejä Lammin lukion sennut viettivät lokakuisen päivän Lammin biologisella asemalla tutustuen ekologiseen kenttätutkimukseen. Vierailu toteutettiin osana BI2-3-opintojaksoa. Päivän aikana opiskelijaryhmät pääsivät tutustumaan kenttätutkimukseen ja tutkimusvälineistöön ensin maastossa biologisen aseman kansainvälisen asiantuntijajoukon opastaessa meitä. Osa opiskelijoista aloitti päivän keräämällä rantakasvillisuuden joukosta pohjaeläimiä, osa irrotti ja tunnisti kalaverkkoihin tarttuneet saaliit ja osa matkasi veneellä Pääjärven syvänteelle hakemaan vesinäytteitä. Tarttuipa haaviin myös Pääjärven harvinaisuuksia, jättikatkoja! Iltapäivällä siirryttiin sisätiloihin kuulemaan mitä biologinen tutkimus käytännössä voi olla, kun Biologisen aseman tutkijat kertoivat omista tutkimusaiheistaan. Tämän jälkeen pääsimme tutkimaan aamupäivän aikana maastosta kerättyjä näytteitä. Rantavedestä ja syvänteeltä löydettyjä selkärangattomia tutkittiin labrassa mikroskooppien avulla ja samaan aikaan toinen ryhmä harjoitteli kalan preparointia, määritti kalan sukupuolta ja otti suomunäytteitä.
